The Executive Breakfast Series

A small room, one big idea, and people carrying the same problem you are.

Melbourne and Sydney, alternating months. Ninety minutes, over breakfast, with a limited number of seats. By invitation.

The morning

What happens in the room

Three thirty-minute blocks. No slides you have seen before, and great coffee.

The Ideas

Organisations spend $366 billion a year developing their leaders and almost none of it can be shown to have worked. I make the case for why, properly, in a way that will either land immediately or annoy you. Both are useful.

The Diagnostic

The four patterns most organisations are living in, used on your own organisation rather than described in the abstract. Most people in the room recognise more than one. This is the half hour people tell me about afterwards.

The Conversation

The part that is actually worth the morning. A small group of people with the same problem, talking about it honestly, without anyone selling anything. I have watched people solve each other’s problems in this block more than once.

WHAT YOU'LL LEAVE WITH

Who is in the room

HR and talent leaders, heads of people and culture, learning and capability leads, and the occasional CEO who has stopped believing the reports.

Capped deliberately. Small enough that everyone speaks.

WHY I RUN THESE

What it is not

I run these because the people I most want to work with are the hardest to reach through a website, and because the ideas work better in a room than on a page.

If it is useful, we will end up talking. If it is not, you will have had a good breakfast and one diagnostic you can use the same week.
